I love this name. Noah was my first choice but DH adamantly refuses. All the other Biblical -ah names are too evangelical these days for me. DS is Leo.
Concerns are pronunciation and that it is feminine. I know 2 boys given this name; 1 is a Jewish teenager, 1 a biracial 5 year old. DCUM hive thoughts? |
| It's a great name! Shouldn't be a problem IMO |
| I really don’t like it, OP. Really, really don’t like it. Please rethink this. |
| I know 3-4 boys named Asa (and no girls named Asa). Interestingly, they all have fairly significant developmental disabilities. |

I like the name a lot but you should know there are some problematic men, mainly Asa Carter, with this name.
https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Asa_Earl_Carter As a white woman with white children I would always be about that association. |
Edit: always be worried about |
| Please do not. |
Ah I didn’t know this. I am Asian. I liked that it is a Hebrew name but easy to pronounce across languages. |
| I like it with the nickname Ace |

For some reason, a novel i read a long time ago called Asa, As I Knew Him sprang to mind.
https://www.goodreads.com/book/show/28091.Asa_as_I_Knew_Him I think the name is fine, unless kids try to turn it into As* to tease him. |
I agree it's a beautiful name. I hope others can reclaim it but I don't think it could be me. |

It’s a name that’s easy to mispronounce and make fun of.
At any rate, your husband shot it down. |
Sorry, saw that Noah was the name he shot down |
| Asa Butterfield is cute so ima fan of it |
