Dealer hasn’t delivered car

Anonymous
It’s a long and complicated story, but there is a car that is sitting in Missouri that has been purchased by my sibling. She paid for it to be delivered to DC, but the dealership is low-balling the transporters, so nobody will pick it up. If the customer has not taken delivery of the car, can the customer walk away from the deal?

Read the contract.

Yes. If they have not taken possession of the car, the contract is not enforceable.

Anyone can put anything in a contract; what matters is what is enforceable by law.

You don't know what is enforceable or not.

Why would this person walk on the car? Find something else?

But the contract should spell out what happens in this instance. Probably gives the dealer X number of days to deliver it or something.

It's one thing to be right, it's another to get your money back from the dealer.
Walking away isn't as easy as it sounds.

OP here. It was 100% financed at 0%, so there is no need to get money back.

I spoke to sibling, the dealer finally relented and supposedly hired a private driver to deliver the car.
