Did anyone make it to no TV or screens until 2?

Just curious.

With covid isolation and working from home, we didn’t make it.

Yes but Covid and working from home was what tipped us over and we were only a few months over 2 then so would have been the same a few months earlier! (Pre-covid we had no intention of starting simply because with daycare and work and only one kid there wasn’t the need, but Covid changed that) Nothing magical about 2 op so don’t feel guilty, use it in moderation and when you can watch with them so you can interact with it, and be conscientious of what you choose (slower shows) and it’s all good!

Nanny here.

Yes, my nearly two-year-old charge has never watched TV or a movie. He’s seen his parents typing on their laptops but has not even FaceTimed yet. We’ll easily make it to two and, most likely, continue until much older as his new baby sister is due this month and I know my employers want her to be screen-free until two.

If you’ve ever watched tv with your kid in the room, that counts as “screen time.” So no.

Yea pretty much, but I'm a SAHM. If I had to work, I wouldn't have had a problem with some TV for a young toddler.

Made it to 18 months with my oldest but then she had some hospitalizations (she’s fine now) and ended up giving her Sesame Street on the iPad at Children’s.

My younger two had no chance.

First kid - no screens at all under 18 months. Facetime only until 3. One 20 min Daniel Tiger until 4.
Second kid - sees screens all the time. She has been allowed Doc McStuffins and facetime since 18 months. Sigh. She still talked at same age, potty trained earlier, and talks all the dang time - so not sure the Doc McStuffins has hurt her.
Third kid due in October. - will probably get a screen day one of this pattern continues. Oye

Till 3 . Then it was PBS and nature documentary with me. My kids never watched TV on their own.

I was a SAHM with a lot of support for household chores. I was able to devote myself to my kids and I loved doing that.

Yes but looking back it was dumb. So many great educational things.

My kids are 22 months apart so we planned on doing no screens at all until the younger was 2 and older was almost 4 but we ended up doing like 20-30 minutes of tv once or twice a week with the older when he was 3.5 with my husband while I was putting the baby down. But neither kid had any international screens until 2. Screens at Target or a bar restaurant occasionally. I’d face them away from it but they would see it going in or out sometimes. Pre-Covid.

LOL. Laughing aside, the only parents I know who did have actual mental health problems.
