I walked by the daycare we are considering putting my DC in and the teachers were supervising a group of kids on their private playground, but they all had their masks down and didn’t seem to be 100% social distancing. Am I overreacting or is that pretty bad? |
They should be wearing their masks even outside. I would not choose that daycare |
They had masks, just down. If they were not close to the kids but supervising that is ok. |
I’ve seen this with two groups of caretakers in clarendon preschools. masks either below the chin or off outside caring for groups of kids ages approx 1.5-3ish |
Pp here and they are directly interacting/holding kids |
Based on what I have seen, any time you are leaving your kids in the hands of someone else, you are at risk.... we have done gymnastics classes, daycare, regular school, swimming classes, etc. and no matter how much they say they wear masks and have standards in place, I have never seen it be 100% consistent. So I just assume their is always non compliance and make my decisions based on that. You have to decide your tolerance level. |
They should have on masks all the time. I would not put them in, and I would explain why. The management should be ending that masks are on al the time. |
They are allowed to remove masks when outside as long as they social distance. |
Our neighbor runs a home daycare. No one wears a mask. 4 women and 20 kids. Trump supporter. It is what it is. I hope they all remain disease free.
|
I hate trump and don't wear a mask outside. I do maintain distance, though. |
Sunlight kills COVID 19 as it is fragile. You cannot social distance with two and three year olds running outside on the playground. Only with the teachers themselves. If their masks are down outside, no need to leave the school. You can advise the management of your concerns and they will react accordingly. I assume you chose the school based on several factors. If you are the parent that leaves at the first concern without communicating, you will be leaving a lot of centers. |
Honestly y'all are crazy if you think there distancing going on in general in daycares, and if you think the teachers have their masks on ALL DAY LONG. They need a break. Outdoors is the best place to do that. Children in daycare are not distancing period. |
+1 The kids are either not wearing masks or barely wearing them at this age, and they're taking them off for meals anyway. And the adults are probably wearing masks 80-90% of the time, at best. Honestly, I wouldn't be bothered at all by seeing the teachers take the masks off outside, as it's the safest place for them to remove their masks and give themselves a break. I would bet that they are better about wearing masks indoors when they can remove them for a while outside. |
Sunlight!???? Woooowwwwwwwwww Hello from Los Angeles where we have 300 days of sunshine a year and are the epicentre of California |
Sunlight helps kill it on surfaces. It’s not a zapper as the virus falls out of your mouth. Omg you really believe this. I just can’t. Please tell our spikes after protest and holiday weekends and beach days thst the sun will kill the virus. I am howling with laughter. |
