Masks all time?

Just to be clear, at this point in time, are masks supposed to be worn at all times, practices and scrimmages included?

In MoCo only I think.

+1. Correct.

Do you know where I can find that in writing to send to our program?

They should be worn when social distancing cannot be consistently maintained (games, scrimmages, other drills). If they are doing fitness or passing 6 feet apart, they do not need the masks.

Here you go. Bottom of page 7: https://www.montgomerycountymd.gov/exec/Resources/Files/orders/098-20.pdf

"All sports participants, regardless of age must comply with the face covering requirement in paragraph 2.b, and the social distancing and hygiene requirements of paragraph 3.a."

Soccerplex and Potomac both mention the requirement on their sites as well:

Soccerplex: https://www.mdsoccerplex.org/_files/SoccerPlex%20Mask%20Policy%20082720.pdf

Potomac: https://bsbproduction.s3.amazonaws.com/portals/5723/docs/psa%20return%20to%20play.rev4%201.pdf

Except In VA. What is the point of requiring masks on the bench, etc if they don’t need them in the game. They will all be exposed during play so what is the point of requiring them any other time? Just for looks?

Subs should not be sitting together on a bench. Period. Even with masks.

It’s called mitigating risk. Just because you take a risk in one area doesn’t mean you do in all areas.

Substitutes are sitting in one space longer. They’re also prone to yelling or cheering, which projects droplets.

Masks protect them from each other, and the Assistant Referee too

You may be near someone in one spot on the bench for 15 min. You're not near someone for that time during a game.

Yes. This is what our moco team does.

Which is not correct. When they lowered soccer from high risk to medium risk, they mandated masks to be worn at ALL TIMES. there are no exceptions to this rule.

Hopefully, now that MD has gone to phase 3, MOCO will follow in some aspect get rid of that mandate and allow spectators.

They did not mandate them to be worn at all times, they just mandated that you follow the guidelines, which say during exercise when physical distancing cannot be maintained. However some of the clubs are just having the players wear them all the time because it is too hard for coaches to ensure they are staying 6 feet apart during non contact drills. They do not want to get fines, so they are making it all the time.
