Infertility Support and Discussion

Great. I am waiting out a chemical pregnancy, should get my period any minute (was really hoping for today but no luck) and now I'm afraid I won't be able to make it in for monitoring b/c of the snow. If I have to waste another whole cycle b/c I can't get my b/w and u/s done, I think I might lose it.
Do you think SG will be open as usual during the storm? I know they are very good about that, but this is supposed to be a LOT of snow. |
| I hear Rockville is almost always open..BUT call first thing in the morning... |
| I am in the same boat. I just started a cycle, with day 3 monitoring. I called my clinic, and they assured me that they would be open. However, I don't know if I would be able to get there through the snow, if it's really bad. I'm really disappointed, but I think we're going to cancel and wait it out a cycle. |
| May be crazy, but if the staff will likely be in, perhaps there's a hotel within walking distance? Perhaps over the tope, but I'd do pretty much anything not to have to wait another month. |

Thanks. I guess I'll wait & call as soon as I know it's day 1, and then hope for the best.
My dr did say since the weather is going to be an issue, I can come on day 1, 2, or 3 and they'd still start my cycle. There's no way we can be trapped at home for 3 days, right?? I just hope Rockville's not my only option - I live in Fairfax County. I've gone there before, really inconvenient early-Sunday-morning stuff, but not during a blizzard. |
| I was just thinking of all the girls out there with retrievals and transfers planned this weekend. What to do? I hope everything works out for all. I have a beta on Monday, but I'll just POAS I guess. |
| Am also in same boat, waiting for my period to arrive to start monitoring. I go to a dr affiliated w/ GW, and they also said it would be fine to start monitoring a day or two later. At first I was frustrated that my period seemed a little late on the Lupron, but now am kind of relieved. |
| my friend has a retrieval tomorrow, gawd i hope they're open!!! |

OP here.
Gosh, I really hope everyone with retrievals, transfers & IUIs can make it in tomorrow! I'm sure they'll be open & the lab will be open, but as the patient, I would be SO stressed about getting myself there!! I still haven't even started my period, which totally sucks since the chemical pg has me pretty depressed and I desperately want this cycle to be OVER, but I guess it's good that cd 3 for me will be no earlier than Monday, so I'm not as worried about being able to get there. |
| There was a DCUM post during December's storm about a woman who went to Dominion and was so thankful that the clinic was open for her ER or transfer (can't remember which one). If you are freaking about your monitoring, you might search for it for some peace of mind. |

I had my ET @ SG Rockville Friday afternoon. They said that the staff was all staying at the Marriott this weekend so they would be open for business as usual. They said all the patients were staying there too...
Good luck to all in this storm!!!! |
