DCXI Soccer?

Apparently Jouons and Washington Youth Soccer Academy (WYSA) were folded into a new(ish) youth soccer organization called DCXI. Based out of NW DC. Same coaches seem to be involved though. Any thoughts on DCXI for a U11 boy? Looking for good, technical coaching without lots of travel, which seems to be their pitch....but wondering if anybody has actual experience with the program or coaches. Thank you.

Don’t know anything about this “club.” Recommend going to a practice or two before you commit. Who will your DS be practicing with? Are the other participants technically proficient?

He wrote ... without LOTS of travel. He didn't write without any travel. This probably just means they will look for local tournaments instead of NJ or Richmond or VA Beach, etc.

They have some teams on EDP IV and below.

City SC is in a similar club in DC. Coaches are great, program growing rapidly, academy style for players team placement, and the best part they train year round with an emphasis on ball control and Futsal. Teams range from EDP II-V for now, older teams are getting promoted each season now should be div 1 soon enough.

CSC has teams in EDP8 and in the MDSL (maryland developmental soccer league)

DCXI is small and each time has 2-3 standout players who are dedicated to the coaching style. Pretty much their whole girls program moved elsewhere last fall. Their youngest kids play in EDP Futures at the soccerplex. They have 2008, 2009 and 2012 boys teams that plys EDP 4 and 5 and are able to keep it competitive.

I have seen them be not competitive EDP but also in way too high a division and then dropped. This is from a year or two ago. Maybe it’s changed. Haven’t seen them recently.

Same here. I will say that those kids and parents seem to take the losses in stride. Seemed happy to play and continued to play despite really bad losses.

DCXI is a fantastic club with great leadership and coaches who are committed to long term development, playing the game right, and creating community. My son has been with them for 3 years, and has only grown as a player and in love of the game. Plus, they have learned to play pretty impressive soccer. Some of their teams are truly outstanding and can compete with the best.

Can you share anything about the girls program leaving? I have a girl and we are considering it for next year but there definitely is a hotels team at her age group.

In Fall of 2024, 2013’s played in EDP 2, 2014’s in EDP 1 and 2015’s have two teams in EDP Futures 1 and 2.

The club has a growth mindset toward development. We just completed a parent focus group led by parents on how to help the club. We are a club and a community.

If you can “cook” on the field, they will get opportunities to showcase in major tournaments and guest with bigger clubs.

It is merit based. If you “cook” you will get noticed. My son went from playing in the 2nd team to playing a level up in one year because we as parents listened and my son listened and he learned how to “cook” on the field.

DC XI is a great developmental program.
