We've recently purchased a home in Columbia Heights and will be moving in in the next 2 months. We have a baby and a toddler. Are there any neighborhood list servs we should be on? Tips? We are long time DC residents, but first time homebuyers, and this is a new neighborhood for us, so any wisdom would be greatly appreciated. Thanks! |
Are you in CH or Park view? I am asking because most houses are in PV but they call it CH. Not sure the list serv for CH but here is a list of listservs in Petworth and it includes Park View.

Good tip, thanks! I just checked, and we are not in Park View - we're to the southwest of that, towards Meridian Hill Park. |
Get on the U Street Tots listserv. They have a very broad definition of “U Street” and there’s some useful stuff on there. |
Some of the ANC reps have twitter feeds that are useful. Actually I do a daily Twitter search on “Columbia Heights” and “Petworth” to keep up with stuff. |
Mt. Pleasant Parents group on FB also has lots of CH parents. There’s a CH parents group that recently started but I left bc it was mostly political campaigns advertising. MTP is much more active. |

Tips, baby proof.
