Please help this single parent who is out of touch with technology. Our household has a wireless inkjet printer/scanner/copier (several years old) that is in the room where I am working for the foreseeable future. My two kids will be schooling from their bedrooms and occasionally need a printer (possibly more often, not sure how virtual school will play out this fall). I want to get a relatively inexpensive printer for them so they don't interrupt me while I am working. For teen purposes:
Should I go inkjet or laser? Laser seems to have come down a lot in price. Does it need scanner/copier capabilities? Is a document feeder necessary? Any recs for a good, space saving one? I saw the HP tango which looks very small which I like, but it is inkjet and is missing a document feeder and doesn't scan or copy. Wirecutter recommends the HP Color LaserJet Pro M255dw for a laser printer, although that also doesn't scan or copy. Thanks. |
| I would go laser. Scanning seems unnecessary with phones etc these days. |
| Do they need color printing? I love my black & white only laser printer (cheap brother recommended by Wirecutter). I think HP makes a b&w laser with scanner |
| I saw that cheap Brother rec on Wirecutter but it was missing a doc feeder and said the print quality not as good. But you like it, yes? |
