My baby is 4-weeks-old. He was born at 7lbs 14oz and 20 inches. He was 7lbs 12oz when we left the hospital. He was 8lbs and 20.5 at his 2 week checkup and 8lbs 12oz and 21.5 inches at his 1 month checkup. He has been lately eating 3-4oz every 2-3hours. My LC said he should only be eating 2oz every 2 hours. The pediatrician said he is doing good and to feed as much he wants.

A baby cannot eat too much. Get help |
30 oz is within normal limits for formula fed baby |
I remember reading that it is possible to bottle feed a baby too much. Are you bottle feeding? |
One of my DCs ate every 2 hours or less through his entire infancy. It was unusual, but it's how he was...he is super healthy. |
Listen to your pediatrician. Feed your baby when he is hungry, no matter when that is or how much he eats.
Are you sure your LC said he should only eat 2 oz every 2 hrs? My LC gave 2 oz as a starting point when I asked how much should my husband give him with a pumped bottle. |
In a 24 hour period, baby should eat about 24 oz. Your baby sounds right on track. I would not worry at all. |
He isnot even gaining a ton! Plus pediatrician said it is great, but anorexic mom wonders if she should limit milk to her 4 week old! What on earth is going on here with you OP? |
OP here. He is mostly breastfed. He only gets 8oz of formula. |
OP here. We bottle feed but he always stops when he is full. |
Trust your pediatrician. |
OP here. We will not limit his food. My LC said he is eating too much at each feed. He’s little and he should only be eating 2oz since he mostly eats every 2 hours. |
OP here. I’m not anorexic. I trust the pediatrician but my LC said it was too much. That is why I’m asking experienced moms. |
You need a new LC, or no LC at all. |
You have a weird LC. Never heard of that.
Congratulations on the little one. |
