What happened to Eggo Thick Fluffy Chocolate waffles?

These are my FAVORITE breakfast! All summer they have been MIA. I've searched all kinds of stores -- Wegmans, Giant, Walmart, Target, Safeway... NONE of them have these in the freezer section anymore.

Does anyone know what happened to them?

I'm getting desperate for my morning joy!

Per Instacart, looks like it might be available at Shoppers? Hopefully they haven’t been discontinued on you. That happens. My dd loved the banana with chocolate chip waffles, and they disappeared. I knew something was up when they went on sale “as long as supplies last”. If you’re military (or have military friends!) you might want to check the local commissaries. I found my waffles there for months after they left the regular grocery stores. I think commissaries require less consistency in there stock, so manufacturers will send them discontinued products.

Manufacturers have been streamlining their product lines since the Covid situation started. It might be temporarily discontinued if you can’t find it anywhere.

I don’t know. But one of my pandemic purchases was an inexpensive waffle iron from Amazon. One beaten egg, a teaspoon of melted butter and about a half cup of Ghiradelli brownie mix makes a yummy, fluffy chocolate waffle in about 5 minutes. It won’t be exactly the same, but it could be a good substitute until you can find the ones you want.

My Granddaughter would only eat the chocolate waffles & can't find them anywhere. The brownie ones are a big NO!!

I’m still missing the Eggo Nut & Honey waffles they had when I was pregnant with my eldest 25 years ago.

It's not hard to make chocolate waffles--I have some in the fridge now. They are great with Nutella.
