Hi,
My husband and I are thinking about going on a Disney Cruise with our 5 year old daughter and 8 month old baby. However, I'm worried about the baby getting sick on a cruise. Would it be better if I wait until the baby is at least 1 year old? I would appreciate it if you share your experiences on Disney Cruise with an infant. Thanks in advance. |
| Check to see the requirements for Disney cruises as fas as swimming. The one I looked into only allowed potty trained kids in the pool. No babies in diapers, and no exceptions. Was a deal breaker for us. |
| Thank you for your comment. I don't plan on doing any activity with my 8 month old baby, but my older one (5 years old) will. So, I'm not sure if I'm taking my baby to a "germ factory" or not. |
Disney DOES allow non-potty trained kids in the pools, as long as they have swim diapers. If you go to Cruise Critic (google it), then the family boards you will find tons of information. I bet a Disney cruise would be a WONDERFUL time for you and your children.

Not according to their FAQs. See here: Question Is it true that children must be toilet trained in order to enter the pools? Answer Yes. The United States Public Health Service requires that only children who are toilet trained be permitted to enter swimming pools and spas onboard cruise ships. Young children who are not toilet trained are welcome to enjoy the fountain play area near the Mickey Pool. It's designed exclusively for the enjoyment of children wearing swim diapers. http://disneycruise.disney.go.com/faqs/kids-teens/toilet-training-pools/ They are VERY strict with this, even with swim diapers. No entry into the pool, only the play area. |
| DH, MIL, 14MO DS and I recently returned from a Celebrity cruise. I'm a SAHM, so DS tends to pick up 'bugs' when we're in masses of new ppl (airplanes, etc.). Returned home and we were both sick. But kids get sick. It's good for them. Go on the cruise--just keep your expectations balanced. I second the recommendation to check out www.cruisecritic.com. Great advice there. |
