Need MD or VA Preschool for 5 yo (Not yet ready for K)

Help! My son is not quite ready for K (turns 5 at the beginning of August) so I'm looking for an exceptional transition program in either MD or VA. We're relocating and figured we'd rent for a year while we get our bearings. Thank you!

I know Kinhaven in Ballston (arlington) has a great 5/older 4's program. The day is a little longer than their regular day, so the kids are in school 9:30-2:00 for the JK program

Cedar Lane Nursery School is a Co-op - I don't know if that's an option. They have a 4/5's class that might work. DD is there in the 3's class and loves it. I'm not sure what the application deadline is/was, though. Check out this thread: http://www.dcurbanmom.com/jforum/posts/list/87272.page

Dolley Madison in Mclean has a pre-k in the afternoons (m-f) for kids who have completed a 4's program but are not ready for K. Basicly a watered down K curriculum.

St. Jude's in Rockville and Holy Redeemer in Kensington offer full-day pre-K (a great preparation for K). My son has an early fall b-day so he missed the MCPS cut-off for K, so we sent him to a full-day pre-K at a Catholic school (which is essentially what K was like when we were kids -- and included weekly art, PE, music, library, etc.).
