I have used the cheaper ovulation/pregnancy tests you can get online and had no problems with. I haven't used the ones on ebay specifically but look same as ones I have gotten at www.early-pregnancy-tests.com.

On mUIs they are talking about sensitivity level of the test to detect LH (for ovulation) or hCG (for pregnancy). Not sure whether numbers quoted for ovulation or pregnancy but a lower number means a higher sensitivity - thus better in detecting LH or hCG.

The mUIs they are quoting are for HPTs and not OPKs. Most women's LH levels at surge are in the 20s and may not get over 40 or 50, so it is ridiculous that they claim some big name tests aren't sensitive until 100ius. That means that any woman testing with those brands will never see a positive on her OPK in any given month - not likely!

The First Response Rapid Response HPTs have a sensitivity of 100. I have monitoring done on natural cycles and go in as soon as I get a positive on my OPK. I have used First Response OPKs and have gotten b/w within an hour of using them and my LH was 27. I have also used the ones from the online source that PP mentioned with no problems and with similar LH results. I don't think there are any issues with these tests per se, but wouldn't hold any weight in these tests being much more sensitive than any other test on the market. I think they are just positioning information to get you to buy their product.

To the 20:21 poster- where do you go that you get monitoring done with your natural cycles? I did an IUI for DC#1, and would really like to go natural for number 2. However, the monitoring would really help me, as my periods are irregular, and last month I got three straight days of an LH surge. Can you let me know what clinic you go to? Did you ask for this monitoring, or did they offer it? Thanks in advance.

I am actually a patient at SG. I have a blocked tube and decided to ask my RE if he would let me get monitored on natural cycles to see if I am ovulating on the "good" side. I then asked if I could do a trigger when I was and he was fine with it. I doubt it would have ever been offered to me and I am soooo glad I asked. I would ask the clinic who helped you with #1 if they will let you do natural monitoring now. I can't imagine it would be an issue. Good luck!
