no BCPs?

Anyone do an IVF cycle with Lupron but no BCPs? When I met with my RE about IVF a couple of weeks ago, he said we'd do BCPs first. My period started on Monday and I went in for bloodwork. My nurse called that afternoon and said they weren't doing BCPs after all based on the results (will start Lupron on Day 21). I have an appointment with my RE on Friday, but thought I'd ask if others have had a similar experience.

Thanks

Did they mention which Lupron protocol you would be doing? The Stop Lupron protocol does not use BCPs. You start Lupron post ovualtion and use it up until you get AF. So, it sounds like that might be what they have you doing. Definitely ask why he/she made the change, as there is probably a good reason for doing so.

Yes- that's it. Thank you. I will definitely ask when I have my consultation on Friday.

Oh wow. That must be what I'm doing too. B/c I started Lupron on Day 21 and am supposed to call when I "bleed." But they didn't make it clear when that would happen. Am not sure if I get my period before I get done with two weeks of Lupron, or after I stop the Lupron. Any advice as to when to expect my period? Thanks!

You should get your period right around the time that you normally do. So, if you have a 28 days cycle, then you would be on the Lupron for about 7 days or maybe a couple of more. You shouldn't end up on Lupron for 2 weeks.
