2 kids in Fairlington?

Anonymous
We rent a townhouse in Fairlington (Clarendon model so a master bedroom and a small/nursery sized room upstairs with finished basement). DD is in the nursery now and the set-up works well for us but looking ahead, we'd like to have another within say 2-3 years. I've seen families in the area with 2 kids - usually a toddler and a baby and wonder how they make things work. Obviously the baby is in with you for a while but eventually they need to go somewhere and the nursery is jammed already as it is.

For those who live in Fairlington, how do you do it? We love it there but we're wondering if we'll need to move before thinking about having another.

We also live in Fairlington in a Clarendon model. We have two kids ages 4 and 2. Right now my husband and I have the master bedroom, and the kids share the smaller room upstairs. It is a small room -however- we fit 2 toddler beds (used to be a toddler bed and a crib), a small table/chairs, and a basket of toys and there is still plenty of play space in there. They have been asking for bunk beds, so that might work even better. I put the changing table and the rocker in our master bedroom to give the kids more space.

I have also contemplated giving the kids the master bedroom, making the smaller room upstairs a playroom, and turning the entire basement area into a bedroom/office for my husband and I. We don't utilize the basement much right now, so this may/may not be an option for you.

Hope this helps!
