Cycle after ovarian cysts removed

I had a laparoscopy to remove cysts from both of my ovaries several months ago. I'm hoping to conceive #2 and have been using OPKs to track my cycle (Pre- DC #1 I had a short luteal phase, and using OPKs plus a B6 supplement did the trick).

The first month after the surgery was pretty standard. The OPK showed an LH surge at the typical time. But since then things have been pretty haywire and getting progressively more so.

I've had no LH surge show for the last 2 months, and I've tried using the OPKs at all different times. I never had trouble seeing the surges before (we were TTC and using the OPKs for a couple of months before the cysts were found).

My cycle was suddenly 6 days shorter last month. That never happens. Plus I had crazy heavy menstrual bleeding last time. I typically have a pretty heavy period, but this was like nothing I've ever experienced and was actually kind of scary.

I have a call into my doctor, but wanted to see what folks' experiences on here have been with this kind of procedure and TTC. I'm starting to get anxious as I was hoping to have gotten this show on the road a while ago.

I, too, was really wacked out after ovarian surgery to remove endometriomas. I would contact your doctor -I was already heading towards IVF (I have stage IV endo), but even getting that started was difficult because getting to a true Day 3 for bloodwork took me 4 months. I would bleed, go in for bloodwork, but my hormones levels and the bleeding werent corresponding to true ovulatory cycles. I feel for you -it's very frustrating and unnerving (esp, the heavy periods).
