Food, Cooking, and Restaurants
For the past several weeks, I've had dismal shopping experiences here (purchased rotten bread, produce, expired products, items constantly out of stock, etc). Has anyone else experienced this or have I just had bad luck? I do all my grocery shopping here which is why this is so frustrating!
Sorry this happened to you - never happened to me at this location.
I had a couple bad experiences at the Tenleytown/Wisconsin Ave. location when I was in grad school but since moving to SS haven't had any issues with them - other than going when it's crowded - which I hate!
I realized that anything on sale at the SS WF (and I'm assuming all WF) has something major wrong with it - sale apples have brown interiors, sale red peppers have mold inside of them. I stopped buying anything on sale. I haven't really shopped there lately at all - find the quality not all that great. My sister says the same about the WF where she lives.
The one or two times I've had a problem with something from the Silver Spring Whole Foods, I've returned it with no difficulty at all. I do all my shopping there, which means I'm there once or twice a week at least, and I do sometimes find things are out of stock. But I've had very few problems with quality, and I buy lots of things on sale.
We love the silver spring WF - shop there twice a week. There was two times where we bought something that we had an issue with and then we just returned it - returns are easy, no questions asked. And we shop their sale stuff every week. The folks at the deli counter are so nice - they always give my son slices of cheese when I am buying cheese/lunch meat.

Happens in Rockville sometimes too. It's shameful what they try to sell. Oh, how I wish they hadn't bought up nearly all the independent natural food markets.
Mom's is still good. |
