Would you have been happy with hybrid schooling?

Or for you, is it full time 5 days in person or it’s just not worth it?

I hear a lot of parents saying hybrid (2 days in person, 1 day of zoom, 2 days of distance learning) is just not worth the hassle.

It’s not what would make me happy. It should be about what’s safe.

Hybrid isn’t necessarily safer than 5 days if there are safeguards in place.

Why worry about an option I don’t have?

Aren’t safeguards.

Yes, hybrid would balance safety with learning. Public school is not up for it

You can consider it’s value. Not worth it to me. It is still frequent risk of exposure in recurring times that frequently reset the 14-day quarantine window.

Assuming the worst.^

Compared to all DL, yes, I would be happy with hybrid.

I don't think it can really be determined until we see how it works out. In New York it's proving to be extremely confusing and convoluted. It does not help anyone's childcare situation. The kids are not allowed to socialize (they are being taught through their lunch break now) or leave their seats. There's no recess or gym. I don't think that we will get much done in class because we will spend so much time sanitizing, attempting to figure out how to run things without physically interacting with the kids or doing group work (I teach special ed) and dealing with the behaviors that will result from these unrealistic expectations.

Well the big advantage of hybrid is that it lets you cut the student body in half. So, for public schools, yes it is safer.

This. Our school doesn’t have room for everyone 5 days hence hybrid.

Most public schools are way over crowded now. You still need social distancing, masks, and daily cleaning.

Definitely would have been happier with hybrid. Totally worth it to get the kids back in the building in person. I liked hybrid because it allowed the schools to follow CDC guidelines for student spacing. Hybrid was definitely the best option.

I'm kind of a black or white person and hybrid is grey. Our kids are at a school which is 100% over capacity so it wasn't going to happen. Also 12 kids on a bus that normally takes 50 wasn't going to happen either.

Well I am not unhappy with DL per se. but I picked hybrid. I do NOT want 5 days. Too full and too much exposure.
