SG beta results - when & who called you?

Anonymous
I am 15 dpIUI. I have been taking HPTs for the past 4 days & they're all positive. However, the line doesn't seem to be getting any darker, and I had a chemical pregnancy a few months ago where my HPTs stayed the same for 2 days and then got lighter over a weekend, and by the time I went for a beta on Mon. morning, it was negative.

This is our 12th TTC cycle so I am afraid to get excited yet, and I'm REALLY anxious about these results!

Last time, I think SG called me around 3pm with my (negative) result. Do they call earlier if it's good news? Does your Dr. call instead of the nurse if it's positive?

Considering I took a test at home today at 6:30am and it was positive, and then I had my blood drawn at 8:30, I'm thinking there's a good chance the beta will be positive too, but again, I'm super worried about the number being low. And if it's positive, will they have me come back on Wed. to make sure it's increasing fast enough?

i don't know if doctors v. nurses call depending on +/- results, but my primary nurse called me. she was always good about calling around lunch time. hopefully that will be the case for you.
she/he should tell you your numbers are and tell you what to do next. but i think they typically like to see 3 increasing positive betas? but yes usually you go in two days later for another blood test.
good luck!! sounds like a winner if you ask me!

i had a very good rapport with my nurse and always requested her to let me know the results as soon as she got them. the earliest she called me with the results was about 11.30ish.

my dr never called me; it was always the nurse.
hope it works out for you. good luck.

For both of my fresh IVF cycles (one - and one +) my nurse called. The first time (-) she called around 1:15 and the second time (+) she called a little bit later (though I remember it seemed like FOREVER). After taking the calls for a couple of failed IUIs, I had her call my husband with beta results for our IVF cycles. If it is + they will have you come in two days later to confirm your beta number has doubled. Good luck - I know all too well how difficult this part of a cycle can be!!

I have gotten calls in the 10:00 hour and as late as 3:00. And, who calls depends on how your RE handles it. My nurse calls with positive or negative IUI results. Timing may depend on what other issues they are handling that day and when they have an available slot to call. Hope you don't have to wait long!

Will post as soon as they call . . . .

My primary nurse didn't call me until well past 3:00 with my positive result! Hang in there!

Is it obnoxious for ME to call THEM?

It's almost 4pm and I'm leaving my office shortly AND I forgot my cell phone at home, so if they do call, I'm going to miss the call.

I'm starting to wonder if they lost or forgot about my b/w . . . .

I'd call...that's crazy to make you wait so long...nuts! Keep us posted...totally keeping my fingers crossed for you...

Thanks everyone but unfortunately my beta was only 20.4 (at 15dpo).

They still want me to have another one on Wed., but this is obviously another chemical pg.

I am so sorry...I guess you never know 'til the f/u beta...but I've been there. History of 2 chemical pregnancies and I know how much it sucks...the emotional shifts are too much to take. If it ends up being bad news, hang in there...you have plenty of time.
