If we get a nanny, kids and nanny will not social distance and probably won’t wear masks at our house. We’re trying to decide which option is safer. Nanny option only gets us exposed to one person, but without a mask. She is practicing social distancing at home. At preschool DS will be exposed to 10 people, but they’ll be social distancing and wearing masks. I don’t know what to do. My first choice would be neither, but DH and I have to work full time.
Nanny is inconsistent. Preschool will not be able to guarantee social distance. Socialization and more learning in preschool. Can’t guarantee that quality with nanny. Preschool has several more sanitization procedures and can keep on top of staff. Can’t say same for nanny. Last year before Kindergarten is very important developmentally. I would choose preschool. If a teacher is out, they will have a replacement so you can still work. If a nanny is out for whatever reason, you are stuck.
