car in wifi?

Does anyone have any info about the active wifi cars that you can pay to have wifi in your car and if it is useful or how you use it etc.? We just got a new Subaru that has the option of wifi in the car through AT&T, will it support my kids tablets etc. or is it too slow etc I can always download movies the their tablets to watch in the car but curious about other options or why you would ge the wifi

I have it in two cars now. We were skeptical at first, so just used a "free trial" to see before we made any decisions. Had a good experience (good coverage, speed, etc.) and kids loved being able to watch movies/shows (on Netflix, for example) on trips. Cost was around $20/month for unlimited data, so we went ahead and signed up. Bottom line, it's certainly not a necessity, but we've found it worth it.

I have it in my car and it works well. It is $15 a month for unlimited service. We have discovered that it really only can handle two devices actively using the system at a time. However, it's worthwhile, because, for example, DC can surf the internet and I can use Waze without burning up the data on our phone's plan. This hasn't been as much of an issue since we're all home more, but it was helpful pre-COVID when we were all out and about all day or on road trips.
