Send your child to 1/2 day preschool if it’s all outside?

Would you send your 2.5, 3 or 4 year old to half day preschool this fall if they plan to have the kids outside the whole time 9-12? Only would go inside with a mask on for bathroom breaks? School would be cancelled for severe weather.

If the class size was very small, maybe. If kids were wearing masks or face shields of some kind, that would be even better.

Yes I would.

My 4yo has been in outdoor camp for 6 weeks in the woods and has loved it. They wear mask except for lunch and water activities

Absolutely yes.

What preschool? We’d love something like this.

Even without covid this sounds like an ideal preschool.

I'm wondering if you're talking about the preschool where I teach. We are planning on opening up, 100% outdoors except for hand washing and bathroom. Although hand washing may be done outside - we had a staff meeting recently and our director talked about ordering hand washing supplies. At the time, I didn't think to ask her about it.

My only concern is if we're still outside in January and February - I get really cold and I am not looking forward to being outside for 3 hours every day when its 30 degrees and really humid.
