| It's either been drizzly or thunderstorming - any reason to not run in the rain this morning? I love running in a good downpour, but we haven't had a thunder-less one in a while, at least in the morning. Anyone else? |
| Seems unwise to me, thunder or no thunder. Just wait until this afternoon. It’s expected to clear out by 3pm or so. |
| I’m about to go walk my dogs in it. If running is your thing go for it. I haven’t heard any thunder. |
| My worry around here is falling tree branches. |
| It's a full on downpour here in the city. No way is it safe to run, tree branches, debris, heard something about tornado warnings. |

I ran this morning! It was terrific. I left my house a little before 6am, got my six miles in, and am now warm, dry, and thrilled to have gotten my workout done.
Go for it, OP! |
Nice! I went for a puny 4, which is better than I usually do in the summer because the rain is wonderfully cooling. I just love running in the rain, provided there isn't thunder/lightning. It feels so refreshing and calming with no one else around. Plus, it burns a few more calories since saturated clothes and shoes add like 7 pounds! |
| I don’t think it would be particularly dangerous or anything but rain is forecast to stop early afternoon, so I will wait until then. |
LOL! I hadn't thought of that angle, but I like it
Running in the rain during summer is such a pleasure. Glad you got out, too, PP! |

If you're not running under big trees, and there's no thunder/lightning, it's perfectly safe to run in the rain. I'm glad more people don't though, because it's awesome. Intimidating at first, but if you're soaked after 10 seconds, you might as well keep going. I tend to have my most joyous runs when it's in a downpour like this morning. |
