Will you consider living somewhere else (beach, mountains, lake house) this fall? |
We've thought about going to stay with family so that we can trade off work hours and childcare. Doubt we'll do it for any extended period of time, but we may go for a couple of weeks here and there.
Some will tell you it's residency fraud. I personally wouldn't worry about the ethics of it as long as I'm still paying rent / property taxes in the school district. It's all about the funding, as long as I'm doing my part there I can handle there moral dilemma of not being physically located in the area. |
Yes at our beach house. We were there in the spring and plan to be in the fall. Sept is a great time to be at the beach.
Even if you don’t have a second home, it’s not residency fraud to spend 2-3 months in the fall at the beach, lake, or mountains. |
No - friends are here and we are having masked play dates and get togethers; these make the days and weeks pass much easier. Can't imagine taking time with friends away. If we had a chance to go away for a week or 2 or so, we'd do that in a heartbeat.

No. I like where I live, and have plenty of family and friends here. |
Not full time, but we are hoping to visit my parents for a week and work/DL from there, and spend maybe two weeks at the beach in late September/early October. Like someone said, it’s a great time to go. And thinking it will be much much less crowded, and good to spend time someplace other than our house before fall/winter sets in. |
And let them eat cake, right?

Oh kinky! ![]() |
I’m a PP staying here with family. If my family lived somewhere else, or I had a second remote location where I could bring my covid-free folks along, I would absolutely go. It’s tough to do it all, especially with no end in sight. Nothing wrong about relocating physically to adjust. And some families have that flexibility without being well off. One relative of mine, that always crashes on someone’s couch comes to mind. ![]() |
No, staying snug here in our tiny house. At least we’re saving money. |
We’re going to the Midwest for the fall where my in-laws can watch the kids (toddler and prek) while we work. We’re planning to do what we can with DL for my prek kid here in DC. We had to rent a place in the Midwest but we’re paying mortgage, taxes in DC & thinking of it as an extended vacation.
This isn’t something we want to do, but it’s the best of no good options. |
That wasn’t clear. Prek kid is coming with us but we still plan to do the DL with the DC school. |
I would if I had the money! |
Not really because we have a nanny (she’s social distancing as well and we trust her). We’ll probably take 2 weekers for both Thanksgiving and Christmas at my parents house in the Midwest |
I am thinking about doing this but the privilege of being able to do so really feels horrible. But I’m also not sure how differently o would give if I was here as opppsrd to elsewhere. |
