Any word on St. Paul's Preschool in Old Town? It's under new management, but there are concerns because the rumor is that Director had less than positive relations with her staff at a previous school and ended up "retiring" earlier than planned. A google search turns up this blog posting....

Forum readers, please do not pay heed to the vindictive blog post referenced in the link above.
The blog author is a former parishioner at Grace Episcopal Church with an axe to grind. I have known Chris Byrnes for over 20 years and know her to be a kind person and effective administrator. |
I have also heard similar information mentioned, besides this blog. My understanding is that the Director had to quit her previous position because staff were threatening to leave due to her bullying. |
This is not true. Please stop spreading rumors and maligning people. |
If it is truly maligning, then there should be a law suit against this blogger. My guess is that won’t happen. |
None of us who did not have first hand knowledge, including YOU can know anything for sure. That what these discussion threads are for...to share information. I will say I’ve heard of problems with the preschool director from reliable sources, and I’m seeking additional information. I appreciate your perspective, but yours is not the ONLY perspective that matters. And you don’t get to shut down further discussion, if there is any interest from others (and so far, there doesn’t seem to be much interest in this preschool....which in itself is providing me with another piece of information). The welfare of children is at stake. |
If Grace School is such a slice of paradise, why did assistant head of school Lee Larkin withdraw her retirement notice after Chris Byrnes left? Why all the tension between the church and the school? Why the negative employee surveys while Chris was there? Why the big lawsuit, settled out of court, that has been kept secret for the past 10+ years? Why the multiple lawsuits against the church?
It’s easy to engage in ad hominem attacks against the author of AnglicanWatch, but I don’t see answers to these questions. These deserve answers, especially before parents cough up 20K a year for tuition. |
Grace Episcopal tried to drag the mother of the author of AnglicanWatch into court as she was dying. He has every right to be ticked.
As for me, I am not letting my kids anywhere near the place. Or St. Paul’s. I’m hoping they grow up to be compassionate, loving, kind adults, and that sure isn’t going to happen anywhere that this sort of behavior is okay. |
