Good afternoon! I'm posting to see if parents of middle school-aged kids have any interest in enrolling their students in virtual, literacy-based activities during distance learning. For context, I'm a licensed teacher and current middle school librarian in DC, and I have two graduate degrees in my field. I'm highly knowledgeable about literature for tweens and young adults - my favorite part of my job is that I get to talk about books with kids every day!
On a daily basis, I lead a variety of literacy-based activities for my students. These activities include writer's workshops, book clubs, reading challenges, etc., and I've been able to successfully adapt these programs to distance learning. I'll continue to run them during my work day for my students, but am curious to see if there is any parent demand for these types of virtual programs outside of traditional schools hours, like after 3:30 pm.
