Little Acorn Patch -Kingstown Location Reviews

Hello, looking to get some recent reviews or experiences with the Little Acorn Patch daycare in Kingstown. Looking to enroll my 3 year old there. I have not done a tour yet but I wanted to see if anyone has kids enrolled and what their experience has been? I reviewed the Virginia DSS website and had found some reports and complaints that date back to 2019/2018 about discipline issues. Again just doing my research to see what other parents have experienced with this daycare, specially the safety aspect and how well the teachers are. I have a tour schedule coming up. We absolutely love it. Been there about 2 years and planning to stay. We’ve had mostly great teachers with one dud, but love the administration. Covid procedures are smooth and I feel perfectly safe with my kid back.

Thanks so much for the feedback. We were able to do a tour and we liked the setting and going to try and make a decision by this weekend as we are torn between this school and another one. By the way how is parking? Is parking an issue in the mornings? when people are doing drop offs? The parking area seems a bit tight and I was wondering how it would be when there are a lot more people doing curb side drop off.

NP. Mine all went to LAP. Last one is still there. We love it!

Parking under normal circumstances is tight. Parents, regardless of how many times there are notices in the newsletter or signs by the door, insist on parking in the fire lane just to "run in". And parking spaces are always in demand, especially during school-wide Back to School night and Math night events. But street parking is available, and the quality of care outweighs any parking annoyances!

Curbside pick-up/drop-off seems to be going smoothly from my end! Never had to wait more than 3 minutes for my daughter to either get checked in or out by staff.

Yes i ended up getting a spot. I am still a bit nervous about having my son go back to school but we are taking it day by day. He will start in September. It seems like they are doing a good job with keeping things clean and taking precautions to prevent any outbreaks of covid. How has your experience been with their process?

You can park all along the street--if you go a little further up the street, it's a residential part of Kingstowne and there is tons of street parking. There's almost no reason to battle the parking lot.
