Much easier? The rate is 13% vs 11%. Who cares what Naviance says. |
Med school placement, Law school placement, wall street placement. Tufts is not on any of those lists, the other two are. You can also add awards won like rhodes Emory and Georgetown had many more than Tufts. |
| PP doesn't understand Rhodes. |
Their placement in med school is 93%. What is it for Emory and Georgetown. |
Just for kicks, I decided to look up Nobel laureates from these three schools... 1. Tufts has Eugene Fama (BA from Tufts) and Roderick MacKinnon (MD from Tufts) 2. G'town it appears has produced no Nobel laureates 3. Emory has had two Nobel laureates affiliated with it--Jimmy Carter and the Dalai Lama, neither is an Emory grad. Again, just for kicks! |
| Tufts is not on those 2 schools level, you all really need to get over it. Tufts is a peer of Boston College. You can look at the reputation scores on us news to see that. In fact BC has better wall street placement than Tufts which is unfortunate. |
I think I saw for Emory it was 54% |
Are you the same PP that said Emory's acceptance rate was 21%. Seems like you would lie to prove a point. Emory is 17th for best med school feeder schools. https://www.collegetransitions.com/dataverse/top-feeders-medical-school Tufts no where to be found. Best wall street feeder schools https://www.peakframeworks.com/post/ib-target-schools Again Tufts not there. I'm not saying Tufts isn't a good school. It's definitely in the 30-35 range. Anything lower than 35 would be unfair but what I am saying is that Tufts selectivity does not mean it's a top 20/25 school. |
| I know this is DCUM and people come here (or at least to some of the forum categories) to make themselves feel better by anonymously putting others down - but I’m still dumbfounded by the number of people choosing to post on this thread just for the sake of putting people down; especially those who feel proud to associate with Tufts. Honestly? How low is your self regard that you relish in squashing the enthusiasm of others? |
“us news” reputation scores? you must be a teenager. Hang tight — your brain will finish developing in a few years. |
Oh yes, We should trust the parti pris of the internet's most "upwardly mobile" parents instead of thousands of opinions by professionals and academics. You sound like you think there's a problem with Tufts being grouped with BC, I'm sure GTown and Emory people feel the same when being grouped with Tufts. |
Tufts is perceived by many as an enviable, high-profile alternative for students that are not Ivy League material but want some level of bragging rights. Nevertheless, Tufts is an excellent school but no better and maybe worse than Georgetown and Emory. What is your choice other than Tufts, if you are a mere mortal academically and want to be in the Boston area? |
the last one is a bit mind-blowing, yet I shouldn't be shocked that those most contemptuous of elites are often ones themselves. |
I think GT and even Emory are Cornell level schools. I know a few at Cornell that couldn't get into these two schools and vise versa. When people say Ivy league material they forget Cornell and Brown are Ivys. |
