I mean - do any of you just choose quality of life vs. endless watching of food?

You say several really good things. You are not steadily gaining weight over time, and your old clothes still fit (indicating you aren't trading muscle for fat). You eat well. Your blood work is great. You are active. Ask your doctor what specifically, other than a number on the scale, she is most concerned about and listen to the answer.

Also, have you ever succeeded at losing weight, and then gained it back? For me, it takes real effort to lose weight, but it takes minimal effort to maintain. I've only ever gained weight by making obvious unhealthy decisions, over time.

Are you willing to try tracking your food/exercise for some finite period of time? It doesn't have to be total deprivation.

I don't want to count every calorie. I eat a ton of fruit and veggies.

Why do you need to eat a ton of anything?

Really? Not PP, but some people get hungry and need to eat. I eat a lot compared to a lot of people I know and my BMI is holding steady at about 20-20.5. One small meal a day is not going to cut it. As long as I eat healthy food (and avoid junk and drinking calories) I don't have to watch what I eat that much.
