I have a ton of higher end baby items to sell - how to do this most efficiently?

Rainforest Jumperoo-$20-$30
Portable crib -$20-$50
Ergo 360 -$30-$80
Car seat-$20
Stroller- huge range but usually $20-$10
High chair-$20
Bumbo$10
Bouncy chair-$10-$20
Baby gates- usually free
Bath tubs- free

Clothes are often bundled. 12 3-6 onesies for a girl -$10 etc
I also recommend waiting for the appropriate season to off load or holiday.
Right no I’m seeing posts for Easter clothes. Right before a snow storm is ideal to sell snow boots and clothing for the parents who realized they need new gear.

Good luck

Nice car seats only go for $20?

If even. How can you trust that it hasn’t been in an accident?

Well, you can try to sell a mattress, I guess. I always love the optimism of people who put a mattress on the curb with a "free" sign. Like, it would be bad enough to have a used mattress. But one that's been sitting on the sidewalk for several days - no thank you!

It’s safer to buy new in your price range than trust used “nice” car seats. It could have been in an accident, or expired, or recalled.

I'm not poor, and I only speak english, but I love a good deal on expensive baby things (my last baby I bought a mamaroo on craigslist for $75 and then sold it for $75 after a month of it collecting dust because the kid hated it). I don't know why there is 7 pages of people giving you crap because I would totally shop someone's curated collection of overpriced baby stuff for a bargain price. I'm 14 weeks pregnant now and just about to start the hunt. Have you posted anywhere?

Hey, PP, if you set up a throwaway account here, then OP can contact you, and the two of you can have a ball going over all it, one by one, on the porch. Do it!

That would be perfect.

Or she can sit in the driveway.

Car seats expire. Yes, even nice ones. If they’ve been through one or two kids already, they might be expiring in a year if they’re not already. Also, you’re taking the risk that they could’ve been in a car accident and aren’t as effective.

I would expect at most $20 for a nice car seat. A graco type brand is usually free.

Are you "honest seeming" enough for OP? Do you have patience to sit in the driveway and go item-by-item?

She'd totally shop it. And we are totally talking crap for 7 pages, you see.

There is absolutely no reason for these two not to get together for a happy ending to the thread. I can't wait for them to set up contact. Absolutely no reason not to!

Why not donate it to a (domestic abuse) shelter? Or an org that supports homeless/poor women? It would be the easiest.
Anonymous
Donate donate donate. Your items are worth so much to parents who have nothing, much more than parents trying to haggle you down to $20. The charities know what they are doing.

Everything from a car seat, mamaroo, nursing pillows, multiple carriers, clothes from Hanna and Boden, etc etc. I don’t need to get top dollar for it all but it feels collectively too valuable for me to just donate. In my ideal world I’d find an honest seeming woman who go could come over on a nice day and hang out for a while on our driveway / porch while I brought things out one by one and we determined a reasonable low price for what she wants - and most of what she didn’t want I’d just donate.

Is this a pipe dream? Anyone know of how I might find such a lady? Or is there a better way to easily and quickly sell baby gear?

I live in Arlington btw.

Are you a man?

What? No.

Seriously is my pipe dream THAT crazy???

Honestly we have a 23 year old babysitter who just came over and took a bunch of my old clothing (admittedly for free) like a Burberry coat and a bunch of Alo and Alala workout clothes and some Vince sweaters and she was thrilled and talked about how she consigns things and buys off consignment all the time, and I just thought, I wish I knew someone JUST like her who was pregnant so all the baby stuff I have could be appreciated by someone instead of trashed (and to be clear most of what goes to goodwill ends up in the landfill).

Clearly though I’m just coming across as a creep or a crazy person who thinks her stuff is more valuable than it is.

No one wants to come over and haggle on a bunch of used baby items one by one. No one.

Used car seats are a bit sketchy -- it's going to have a limited life, plus you might say it's never been in an accident, hasn't been stored in a hot room, whatever, but they don't know you from Adam.

Bundle the clothes by size and sell them that way. Or donate them.

List the baby items on whatever site you use for a low price.

this. people that care to about "high end" baby gear are rich enough to pay for it new. normal people who buy regular baby items don't really care about "high end" ... sounds kind of ridiculous to be honest.
