Rich feels like you would have little worry with money. We are now making 440k family of 6. 10 years ago we made 180k and lived in a less expensive place. I feel the same and have roughly the same amount of stuff. Maybe rich is only top .5% |
Thank you. You make so much sense. Many on DCUM here are part of the top 10% in the DC area, but they will still tell you they not rich. This is ridiculous. If top 10% doesn't make you rich, what does? People are so out of touch to the point that the top 1% in this country says they are not rich. |
Where we live has become a DC exurb, although we don’t have to commute. I enjoy this board. |
What is your net worth? |
I agree it’s net worth not income, but I was shocked that only 6% of wage earners Max out their OASDi. That’s income of $142,000. |
Are you one of those people who thinks not being able to pay an unexpected bill of $500 is middle class? The first step to healing is recognizing we have a problem. |
OP you sound very immature. A lot of posters who have chimed in talk about HHI. That is completely insignificant.
Wealth =NW. |
What is rich net worth? |
Our net worth is about $7m. We are 40. |
“Our” net worth? Counting wife’s cookie jar money and kids 529 plans? |
I'll settle it for you fools. If you have more than $5 million in taxable bank or brokerage accounts (not 401ks!), you are rich. If you don't, you are not rich.
Personally, I have only a little more than $1m in taxable accounts. Not rich. PS - I love these arguments over what's rich and what's middle class! |
No they're probably not worth more than you are because they spend a lot of money, while you save. I do taxes for those folks and they've got lots of debt. |
+1 I like this definition |
wow sexist much? |
I love these threads. I think we should make sure at least one always appears in the recent topics page. |
