Does having a sister make you happier?

Same, lol. I tried to be close but as soon as she had kids there was no room for friends or family. I do the obligation call every now and then, but she has made her bed. Her husband ended up dying and one kid moved to another country. Now she only has the one grown child, but she's busy with her family so I guess it's that Karma thing.

You sound awful. Karma thing? Made her bed? I don’t think she minimized contact with you because of her family obligations. The bitterness and judgement just oozes from your post.

Same. I think we got rid of those VHS videos of me being asked what I wanted with my sister in utero before routine and accurate ultrasounds. I was like "BROTHER! I hope it is a BOY! I do NOT want a sister!"

I got a sister. She's...fine. Not a nightmare but not someone I would call a friend.

I have a brother. Used to want a sister.

Now I see that, if he were a female version of himself, I would still dislike him.

Gender is almost irrelevant, a good match is what matters.

We were "best friends" for 20 years until money got involved, now we don't speak to each other.

Yes, I've always had an excellent relationship with my sister, she's two years you ger than me and she's always been one of my best friends. As kids we were joined at the hip and I have a ton of great memories of our adventures together. We still meet up and ha g out at least once a week (though this on hold with the pandemic). But what I love most is how supportive of me she is. The best example being when my wife passed away last year she dropped everything to be there for me, she let me cry on her shoulder and spent the whole day with me. So all in all I'm very lucky to have such an awesome little sister.
