99%, my son thinks the test was generally easy. No bragging or anything. |
How do you find out how many the kid got right/wrong? |
There is another thread on this - but contact the school and ask them to contact the Office of Testing for the actual test report. The report will break down each section and will tell you how many questions, how many they answered/did not answer, and how many wrong they got. |
Wow, if getting results back at the beginning of March was considered slow, we got ours today (5/1/2021). We're satisfied with how are child did and can say that the only practice we did was off some Youtube sample (I wasn't willing to pay $ for practice tests) the day before to see the format. It was a good thing we did since the first 15 questions rattled our DC into realizing that the timed element can potentially sink you. We did the other three sample tests discussing very briefly it's probably best to identify what you can do and go for those and use remaining time to tackle what you didn't get. Other than this day before stuff (because we took our Assistant Principal's advice of not preparing) no other preparation. DC is at a Centers AAP school and perhaps the level of instruction is on par with helping kids perform well. |
You did not take your assistant principal’s advice. |

By taking a sample test on YouTube the night before is being equated to taking a prep course? Are you f**king serious? |

NP. I don’t really care either way but it *is* prepping. |
So you'd tell your kid not to even know the general format of the test? |
Another 99% for my DD. We got the letter from school today. |
Not the op, but yes. |
That’s you. You can have your kid go in blind. Teachers already ‘prep’ the children during math class. |
My kid got 96%. We did not get a score, only a letter from our school saying that he may be placed in Algebra in 7th if he gets Advsncrd Pass on the SOL.
I don’t care one way or the other if DS takes algebra in 7th or 8th. DS is the one who wants to take algebra in 7th. I think he feels that would put him in the smart group. No pressure from us at all. Not sure if kids actually discuss this at his school. He attends an AAP center. |
DP. No. I also had my kids work through a practice test that we found on the internet because I didn't want them to go in blind. The main difference is that I acknowledge that we prepped for the test. I would never go around boasting that my kids didn't prep after doing a practice test that was not given or recommended by the school. |
