k-12 or k-8?

Anonymous
For the most part, private schools where we live are either K-6 or K-12 (I can only think of one K-8). We looked at both before K and went with K-6 options. Yes, outplacement was stressful but come the second week of December we were done with everything (apart from sending our first choice school a letter declaring as much, which I did last week).

After all is now said and done - acceptance day aside - I’m glad we went to a K-6. This was a great experience for DC to go through, they rose to the occasion and had no choice but to step up and get it all done with prepping for interviews, ISEE, missing school for interviews/tours and making up work. DC is a different kid now than in K, glad we had the opportunity to really see schools, evaluate their strengths & opportunities and determine best fits for the remaining 7-12 grades.
