that's not how it works. First of all, they are not stupid enough to come get you in your house. They will come get you at your place of work. (or let me guess... you are too mentally ill to hold a job). And then, if you are quiet enough, they don't do anything. But if you get arrested for another crime, and then they find the gun, they increase the sentence and take away the gun. Or if you start making death threats, and they know you have a gun, they use the gun and not the threats to arrest you. Its a bit like jay walking laws. They are enforced as a tool. But no, nobody is going to start searching homes for these guns.

So, basically you are saying not to pass laws because a few million people with guns are too insane to obey the law? So the solution is to just shrug it off and let these mass shootings continue? Because we don’t want to rile up the crazy people who are just sitting around waiting for this moment? You admit that these people have nothing in their lives more important to them than their AR-15. So we are supposed to just back away slowly and hope they don’t decide to shoot up a school? No thank you. Let them go up against our law enforcement and military and see how that works out for them.

As for where to put them...first of all, there are punishments/sentencing that don’t involve jail time. And the argument that we can’t make a law because too many people (with AR-15!) will break that law is not exactly an effective argument. Next are you going to say that rape should not be illegal because there are too many rapists to deal with?
