There should be a rule on this thread: you can share names you dislike provided that you share what you named your own children...

I always think of Simon and Oliver as wussy boy names too. Owen doesn’t seem wussy to me, but Spencer, Liam, and Elliott do. Someone suggested Oliver to me for DS#2 and I had to work to keep a neutral, non-cringe face.

Anything with a Kreative spelling. Or when people use a traditional spelling and insist that everyone pronounces it wrong.

Interestingly I agree with most of your list except for Caleb which doesn’t fit in. It’s a biblical name but the others are trendy. I used to hate it and think it was trendy also. I realize it’s biblical and somewhat unusual but still masculine. I have girls but would totally choose it for a boy.

Ok, I’ll give you Caleb and admit to that one being because of a negative association with a Caleb from junior high school.

haha I was PP and just saw this! We've all got random negative associations...

What do you think of names that used to be boys' names but are now officially girls: Lynn, Ashley, Leslie, Courtney?

I totally get it because I don't like girl Michaels or James.

I hate the term "wuss" because it indicates that boys and men should not have emotions because that is feminine and females are weaker and inferior.

I was watching Call the Midwife tonight and one of the babies was named Agnes. That may be my least favorite name, followed by Enid.

My mom ( and I ) agree with you. Agnes is her name and she has hated ever since she was two.

Ziggy. It’s such an ugly name and I’ve heard it given twice in the last month. Not a nickname either - two little boys will have to go through like with Ziggy on their diplomas!

Any name that starts with "Ed"
Richard and any variation thereof
Courtney
Many of the gender-neutral names like Morgan, Kennedy, Addison, Avery, Riley, Emerson, Charlie, etc. Not all, but most.

I don't consider Charlie gender neutral. It maybe a nn for Charlotte but, most girls aren't named Charles.

I’m 40 so half the women I know are Jennifer or Jessica! My guess is the op knew Jennifer’s and Jessica’s in high school and hated them.

Like Stacey, Leslie, Carol, ...?

There’s basically no men under the age of 80 with those names. Very uncommon now and not making a comeback for men anytime soon.

Leslie Odom Jr. would disagree with you! Plus we know a male Courtney and he is about 48

I like the French pronunciation--AHN-yes.

It's ahn-YES. The French put the stress on the last syllable of every word.
