MoCo's per student allocation is around 18K, almost twice what YY has to spend. MoCo draws in federal, state and corporate grant money to send low SES kids in immersion programs to summer camp.
Don't feed any troll who would like to see immersion done right. Horrible idea. |
Not the PP you're responding to but you really should stop telling other people where to move, and defining their worlds as small. Why not train your ire on charter admins and fellow high SES parents who settle for so little. |
+1 good idea. |
It depends on the school and the language track, but I'd put the number much higher than 50%. This year (SY 2025/26), there were enough DCI spots for all feeder school kids who wanted a spot at DCI middle school, according to last year's principal. However, there would not have been enough spots in the event that ALL feeder kids had wanted to go to DCI. But some families choose other options for middle school. Also, since Stokes is the only French language school, all of Stokes French students get in, even after Stokes East End expansion. That is because Stokes has 20 guaranteed French spots at DCI. But DCI has an additional 30 French lottery spots. And Stokes French families are first in line to get those additional 30 spots. |
Wow fun, a thread from 2019! |
