If you are including Claremont Colleges and Vassar, +1 more vote for Oberlin. |
| Tufts. Feel of a small liberal arts college, suburban campus outside of Boston. |
Tufts University - not a SLAC, university. |
The Claremont Colleges have a regular train to LA's version of grand central station, as does Vassar to GCS itself. How does one leave Oberlin without a car? That's the key aspect IMO. It doesn't really matter if you're an hour away from the city if there's no convenient way to get there. Most students at these schools are from out of state and don't bring their cars (if they have one) with them. |
https://www.oberlin.edu/about-oberlin/transportation-directions/shuttle-services There is no train line but it has typical shuttle, bus, vehicle transportation lines. During regularly scheduled academic breaks, there is also shuttle service to and from Chicago, NY, and DC. There is also on-campus car rental students can rent by the hour. Also uber and lyft - you can get around by click, click. Some students have car on campus. Buddy system there |
