AND there doesn't seem to be a problem with available seats at BASIS, if you want them! So, "magnet" parents, send your kids to BASIS, and be happy.

My middle school kid has been bored in most her classes at BASIS, and annoyed by the presence of rowdy, unmotivated and dim-witted classmates. A magnet test-in program BASIS is not.

Boston Latin Graduate who was expecting Boston Latin type wonder, esprit de corps and challenge.

Another jerk parent. Does it amuse you to talk about "dim-witted children?" Are you always awful, or just online?

Apparently empathy for others gets short shrift at Boston Latin.

Another honest parent. Yea! One tires of PC indignation on these threads.

THIS one tires of you Trumpy dirtbags who think you've been given license to be an a**. Sane people who don't write children off as "dim-witted" are going to call you on it.

As someone who also lives in that area I would like to point out almost every one of my less than 40 year old neighbors is a DC transplant with little kids.

You guys are always piling on with this silly crap and I usually just ignore the absurd comments. But honestly "the inner city"? West End is now "the inner city"?! That is classic high-grade pearl clutching drama that I've come to expect on DCUM. Gotta love it.

Sorry. Wrong thread. This was meant for the SWW-FS thread.

No need to apologize, there are so many threads trying to dismantle the things that are working in DCPS that it is hard to keep track.

(P.S. I smell charter trolls)

Whatever the cause of the improvement, why dismantle it?
