What's a "decent" salary?

And remember, our dear POTUS graduated from an Ivy League school, as did the Unabomber. I wouldn't be too proud of that!

I can understand if there are two spouses and one is following their passions, has work-life balance, flex time, etc. and the other is taking home a decent salary to make up for it. But as a single parent or single income household, I don't understand it. Didn't you know the cost of housing, health insurance, child care, etc. when you decided to go down this path? It is fascinating to me and I'd love to hear from some of you who have chosen this career trajectory.

At 21, ugh, no.

Bachelors and 2 Masters in Engineering. Professional Certification in my field. I make 112k and I'm 35. Hubby is still working on his bachelor's but he is skilled in his profession. He makes 80k. I feel like we are doing great--until I log on to DCUM, that is

Similar - masters plus 19 years and make $125 with a lot of flexibility and good hours. DH makes 200k and also has great hours and flex. Feel like this is plenty - good retirement and college savings and don't feel stretched.

Seriously, every one I passed looked like it was $3M+.[b] Who is buying all these homes? They must make much more than $300K a year.

You must have gotten lost in the poor part of town. You need to be more careful.

Really? Interesting. Althoughthat takes into account janitors and part-time, etc., I assume?

I wonder what it would be for a college-educated, master's holding person with 10-20 years of experience?

Maybe $250-$350

Hell to the no. $100-$140k maybe.
