so I woke up this morning to a google alert about an article that quoted a friend of mine. To me, that would be a real measure of success. I didn't even think of money. I thought of public recognition.
(FYI, our hhi hit $470 or so this year, but a lot of it (half) is locked up and illiquid) |
Bingo, same here. |
For me it's 120K. Paid off house. Then $5K a month for everyday expenses. $3K a month for travel and fun. $2K for rainy day, carryover |

$50000 I raise your kids, make sure they are safe and fed so you can go make your six figures. So sad !
--- nanny (former preschol teacher) |
I beg to differ. This is only realistic if at least one is a law degree. |
| It isn't HHI, it is net worth that I am interested in. |
I have a $200k HHI and a $600k NW. I'd rather have a $600k HHI and a $200k NW. |
??? How come? Sounds like you're doing a good job with the income you have already! |
Seriously? Because with a $600 hhi they'd have a $600 net worth in no time..,. And then some. |
I went to law school so I can afford to pay a nanny. Maybe you should go back to school. |
But if everyone went to law school, there would be too many lawyers in the employment market. Oh, wait a minute..... |
Sure, I'm doing fine. And I'm totally content with my situation. But, that doesn't mean I wouldn't rather be doing better. If I had a $600k HHI, my NW would grow by leaps and bounds faster than it is now. |
So sad! A teacher who can't spell preschool. I don't normally lecture people for spelling mistakes, but since you made a point to scold people who have careers and hire nannies, I made an exception for your dumb ass. |
Have you heard about misspelling? And yes honey I did go to school (I bet I'm more educated than most of you on this forum!) |
| I'm a preschool teacher and all the higher paid parents who drop their children off to me are very grateful that I'm there. If you don't like how much money you're making, you need to move along. |
