Do I introduce myself to my new neighbors?

We threw a block party when our new neighbors moved in so they could meet everyone. That's not really the norm in our neighborhood but people seemed to have a great time. It has since turned into an annual tradition!

A small updated - she introduced herself to me, and I got all excited - it turns out she's some crazy senior Mary Kay rep, obviously looking for new people for her "team".

HELP ME.

Aaaaaand this is why no one introduces themselves. You never know what you're going to get suckered into. Just be courteous but distant, like everyone else is with you.

This is how I feel OP.

Most my neighbors are not the type of people I'd want to associate with once I got to see how they were from a distance. Drama filled...no thanks
