Have you read this thread? There have already been several posts about BH, which is a bit off-topic.

Please keep up.

Because it's a rubbish march in support of racist hate cartoons? The President of the United States doesn't make an appearance for that.

What are the dire repercussions of the President not attending the Paris march? Will it destroy our foreign relations? Will it collapse our economy? Will it send some "message" that the US either is against free speech or in favor of radical extremism? Just what makes this such a big deal? How 'bout we shut the hell up about it already and not inadvertently make it out to be something when everyone with a smidgen of common sense knows this is nothing.

We have an Ambassador in France for precisely such symbolic marches and ceremonial appearances. It really looked to me that those heads of state who did show, unless they were neighbors of France, were doing so to exploit the event, as this article notes:

Interesting...

But when will it be discussed that all these leaders did not march with the masses - but instead posed for a staged photo? That was their "participation" in the march. Not sure POTUS needed to go to take a staged photo.

This was an impromptu gathering and some folks showed up w/o an invite.
this

And they made it up as they went along. What kind of security did they have in place. This could have been the bait to get the western leaders all in one place.

Gee. And, our President has never exploited an event..........

Yeah like several posts saying why does no one care? 2000 people got killed on January 3. Not even a thread until the twelfth.

Paris march? The attendance thereof? That's what this thread is about. The L'Enfant metro event thread, that thread was about the L'Enfant metro event.

There's a Boko Haram thread. Why not ask there?
