I was a theatre minor, and have many friends who were theatre majors. While one of them has a name you now might recognize, and one did a little Broadway, others have gone on to be productive members of society as well - designing sound for B-way, high up in engineering departments in television and radio, working in major league stadiums in entertainment and promotions, teachers, yoga instructors, furniture and house design... They are a fascinating group of people, who almost are all happy in their careers. Yes, I would encourage some business classes, and if they are focusing on performance they should also take classes in design, but theatre can be a good starting point for other creative outlets.
