I need a good cry

just watched "Love Actually" for the first time. Cute movie, but not a tearjerker.

I think love actually is a tearjerker..., the scene in the airport at the end , and the woman with the dependent brother (I forgot why) interfering with her love life.,,,,

I saw that. I cried like a baby. If that one doesn't get you nothing will.

??? Yeah, I cried like a baby and was depressed for hours afterwards. What's wrong with you? OP asked for a "light" movie that will make her cry not a depressing one!

Anyway, I just watched "Labor Day" on Netflix - really liked it and cried like a baby ...

French movie Amour (it won Canes festival few years ago). Made me cry several time. It is about love, but realistic love, not Hollywood BS.

OMG, yes! Forgot about that. I was sobbing in the theater with my then 6 year old dd. It kinda freaked her out. I had no idea I'd react that way at the end.

I was going to suggest Bridges of Madison County.

I am not a crier but last night I watched the Christmas Special of "Call the Midwife" and was sobbing. I think you can still get in on the WETA site

The Champ (OMG!!)

Any movie where the main character is an underdog and comes out on top! They get me every time.
1) Rudy
2) Cannot Buy Me Love
3) Flash dance
4) Lucas
5) Blindside

...,and SO many more...

PP who recommended this. I couldn't let my daughter watch it for a long time because I couldn't control myself. Finally I relented-I can watch it now without completely sobbing and she doesn't notice the silent tears.
