I looked that up and it was an incoherent post and I didn't see anyone comparing the McDonnell situation to that of Perry. At any rate, it's within the governor's authority to veto. Now if he had been paid off to veto then perhaps there'd be a problem. But it's not within a governor's authority to accept bribes/"gifts" from someone while using his official position to push that someone's products. |
Here's Rick Perry's mugshot:

Book'em Dan-o. |
| Handsome guy |
| I see they didn't make him hold up the placard. |

The stink on this indictment just exploded. |
how dare they include a democrat on a twelve member grand jury. She must have hypnotized the other eleven. |
Right. What could be wrong with a member of the jury hanging out with a witness? Gee. |
Oh my god. A person on a grand jury has political beliefs. Do you realize that people on juries are normal, average people, and more than 1/12th of Texas are Democrats? |
Beliefs are one thing. Being on the DEMs rules committee--while indicting Perry is another. Hanging with a witness is also a problem. |
| Republicans in Texas believe they are entitled to a jury if their peers, where peer is people who believe you are innocent. |
So? That's who was randomly selected for jury duty. Just because she is staunchly Democratic doesn't mean she's biased. By the way, would you say the same thing if the parties were reversed? |
yes. Opinions are one thing, activity is another. Jurors don't meet with witnesses. Period. |
She wasn't meeting with the witness, she was at an event featuring the witness, which was also attended by many other people, so they couldn't have talked about the case. |
It is inappropriate. Period. |
