There are so many links. They require SSN. I am afraid it's a scam. Can you please recommend the reliable websites? Thanks! |
| To the indexer -- how would you suggest breaking into the field after taking the training? The website mentioned an apprenticeship. Any pointers on how to set up an apprenticeship with an experienced indexer? |
Not pp you quoted, but my Dh does mystery shops. Here are some companies he works with http://www.kernscheduling.com/ http://customerserviceexperts.com/ https://www.shopperscritique.com/ Many of the shops require you to spend some of your own money (to buy a product or service) and then you get reimbursed. It typically takes a month or longer to get reimbursed. |
Thanks! |
| OP, didn't read every post, but is getting a childcare license an option? I did it, and earn very good $$$$. Private school education and a second home. If you're good, you can charge a lot and even do short hours if you want. The last year I did it, my hours were 9-noon. It would be a child's first "social" experience with a teacher. Perfect transition before a big classroom. |
I didn't do an apprenticeship and I don't really know of any indexers who have. I started marketing and networking after I finished the class -- created a website, joined ASI and purchased the "Indexer Locator" option with my membership, sent out tons of marketing emails pitching my services -- and got my first job about 3 months after I finished the class. I haven't had much of a break since, and I'm still getting jobs from emails I sent several years ago. Good luck! |
since this is anonymous do you mind sharing how much you earn? |
Are you OP? Or someone else wanting to do it? |
Ok, just curious I guess. I can put it is way for you. I couldn't afford to be a school teacher in a school. |
*this way |
| What are you thinking of possibly doing, OP? |
Not OP but a broke teacher
|
| New PP here. Just want to thank the indexer for sharing! |
In a school? |
Ha! How naive you are. I taught for 10 years before staying home when my first child was 18 months. I would get to work at 6am and leave by 5:30 and still have work to do. In the summer I attended conferences and workshops while tutoring and babysitting to supplement my income. OP, I was able to find odd jobs that I could work from home (scoring standardized tests, evaluating videos of teachers,) I would do these jobs when DH got home from work. Now I provide childcare where I can bring my youngest with me. It isn't great pay, but I am also not paying a sitter. |
