How the shit do normal people afford to live here?

How will you afford summer camp. What about food?

I don't pay attention AT ALL to what people around me have. I don't count the money of other people. I worry about myself and we do just fine. I'm sure there are places where we don't measure up -- but I do what I can do and we're pretty happy.

The upgrades are maybe Leesburg, Frederick, Woodbridge if they are better off (say >100k HHI).

Some of the more adventurous White folks do buy in Prince George's and the safer parts of NE/SE DC, but they are over-represented here on DCUM, as many of the neighborhoods mentioned are still <80% Black.

Exactly, and to live close in you need 600k min to get with a higher class of people, really over 1M to be close in and be in a good class location.

50k wouldn't get you piss around here.

so are you saying "white folks" should only live near "white folks"??? Did I actually read that correctly?

Well, my kids go to grandparents/ spend time at the y, refrain from waking me up unless the house is on fire---I work nights---and/or go to the park and library with their 12 year old sister.

I know people that have commutes comming in from Baltimore, Prince William county, PG county, and even one person from WV.

I live in alexandria. I dont consider that far. I can get to DC in 12 minutes on the weekends snd 30-40 mins on a weekday rush hour. I live 9 miles from my job in Dc. To me thats not FAR
