Where do you buy boutique kids clothing?

Back to original q, Dawn Price is having a killer sale right now, 50-75% off, at both locations. I also like Why Not in Alexandria for girls stuff. Online, Oliebollen.com and tuttibella.com are both great.

I was curious about tuttibella so I went to their website to check it out -- $22.99 for a t-shirt ON SALE? So their regular priced t-shirts go for close to $50. Unbelievable!

Yep!

Hey OP, let me and this poster know when Junior outgrows those expensive outfits so we can head out to Goodwill and scoop them up. Maybe in about 2 months - hoping for a growth spurt.

Can I ask whether this is meant to be mean to the OP?

Why? Does not sound like you like boutique clothes. So why would you buy them at goodwill?

I sew, and I get it about the quality thing. I also don't appreciate some manufacturers helping my dd look sleazy at 4.
I try to buy neutral stuff at Target, but I do enjoy the boutiques.

Olive Juice is my favorite for the regular everyday clothes for my dd and Hannah Anderson for my son.

I LOVE Catimini.

Nope, didn't say that all. Not sure how in the world you could infer that. I just don't like paying so much money for them. Didn't say I didn't like them, just not the price.

I used to buy my daughter's clothes anywhere, until I discovered Ebay when she was around 2. Then I found Oilily and I was hooked on designer clothes. First, I love dressing her differently and kooky-chic, it fits her personality and she loves getting the compliments. BUT, I cannot afford to buy without SELLING - - so every season, we flip her stuff on Ebay and get money for a new wardrobe. Sometimes, I score great deals for her on Ebay, she wears it for a season, and I can sell it for MORE than what I paid. Either way, I don't lose more than 25% and she got to wear it. Sort of leasing clothes, LOL!

I can't do that with Gap, Target, Old Navy - they just don't sell well on Ebay. Plus they shrink or fall apart half the time. So for me, even though the brands are expensive my out of pocket cost is probably less than what moms shopping at Carters, Target, Old Navy etc are paying.

Yes, the nicer clothes really do hold up well. Old Navy, Target, and Gap clothes are fine for one season, but by the end of that season, the colors are starting to fade (even when handwashed in cold water) and there is fuzz ball action. Especially for boys clothing. I'm not saying this is the end of the world, but for folks like me who prefer to buy gently used clothing, those brands are not a good choice on ebay. The better brands (catamini, janie and jack, izod, etc.) look almost new.

A few weeks ago I was at Dawn Price and noticed the tag on a sleeper said, "not intended for use as sleepwear" ???? The brand I think was called Kissy Kissy or something like that and was made in Peru. When I asked the manager about this she told me the item was not sleepware -- but clearly it absolutely was! I am not 100% sure what the flammability standard for children's sleepware is in the US but I wondered if these clothes are flammable but could be sold because the tag claims it's not. Regardless, I won't shop there again. Obviously the manager thought I was an idiot and didn"t know what a sleeper was.

Comfykid.com if you like Zutano for babies. They also have Catimini and other european designs..not my taste but they have a good selection. Loved Zutano for cute prints and soft fabrics but they really fade after washing a few times.

Why is this topic so popular? I cannot believe it has more views than any other topic.......personally, I have no interest in where my kids clothes (every where from Target to the Gap to Burberry and Saks, if you need to know....) come from or other's for that matter - just had to see what all the fuss was about....!

Funny that you mention the brand Kissy Kissy sold at Dawn Price (should be called Dawn Pricey IMO -- haha!). I received a Kissy Kissy outfit for my DD when she was first born and it was adorable, but out of all the outfits I received and bought myself, it was the only one where the snaps fell off and it was probably the most expensive. She never got to wear it and it's a shame b/c I know the person who bought it spent good money on it.
